Paul's Comment: The problem with starting a web comic is that, no matter when you start it, you're always going to miss an event or some drama that'd be perfect to cover. Luckily for you Greenhorn fans, we don't care about going back and using old material. That's right. We have the power, you don't. So deal with it. And sacrifice a goat in our names while you're at it.
Anyways, this idea spawned from, more or less, the drama surrounding Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora and its review over at Strange Horizons. Due to my huge and ever growing pile of books, by the time I get to read his book all the hype will have died down (unless it's right when the movie comes out) so all this blah-blah-blahing over people being paid money to write positive reviews won't even be a thought in my mind.
Granted, I wish people would give me money. I'd write things like, "This book will blow your mind! No, really! Your mind will be BLOWN! It's that good!" That'd make a great cover blurb. Any takers?
Damon's Comment: If I got paid to write reviews, I would quit my real job and design a great hype quote generator like Dogbert did for movies. Then let the money come rolling in. I'm going to take my soapbox to another place though...buy your books through this amazon link here doesn't even cost you extra. Buy advertising at Greenhorncomic and Fantasybookspot here. And make sure you link us everywhere you can, we even have a new banner coming soon. Hey wait a sec ... isn't that the same...nah forget I said it.
